PATHASALA

Pathasala was established in September 2017 as a separate project of the Nepalese Society of Tasmania. Pathasala is a Community Language School which aims to teach Nepali language and culture to the kids from Nepali and non-Nepali origin, making them connected to the home and family back in Nepal. We run classes for two groups, Junior class (3-5 Years of Age) and Senior Class (6-10 Years of Age). Started from a humble beginning as classes were run in an office room but now it runs in Cosgrove high school in Glenorchy. The classes run as per the Austrian school calendar with approximately 40 classes in a year. The classes are run by the the dedicated Teachers, and volunteers. Pathasala is not a formal school, but we follow a structured curriculum that is suitable for both Classes.

Apart from teaching in classes, we also get them involved in Nepalese Cultural dances, Music, Sports, and other extracurricular Activities. Our kids participate in various cultural events throughout Hobart and are known as Pathasala Students.

Our Admission opens Once a year around February and closes around end of February. Our annual fee is $150.00 which includes all the teaching materials, stationary, event participation and extracurricular activities. In very exceptional cases, a small fee may apply.
